# Half cubes

This puzzle pieces are made by joining half cubes. I guess original idea belongs to Toshiaki Betsumiya. He was designed Gemini puzzle for Naef spiegel AG. This company has very nice products. You can see some of their other puzzles fom Rob’s puzzle page. Gemini puzzle is aiming to make a 4x4x5 block fom a mathematical set made by joining half cubes. After Stewart

Coffin was designed “Split cube”. He was designed a 4x4x4 cube by using some pieces of this mathematical set.

And lastly I designed my own puzzle “Half cubes” by using some other pieces of this mathematical set. This puzzle has four solution. Puzzle pieces are here,

For making this puzzle you must cut 16 half cube. For this purpose I used a 40×20 mm ready stock and I cut 40x40x20 mm pieces with my hand miter saw. If you glue first 7 th pieces (bottom line third piece) you can use this piece as a jig for gluing other pieces. Another easy to make and difficult to solve puzzle. # Offroad cube

This puzzle is one my simple 4x4x4 cube design.I think my inspiration source for puzzle name is clear. I was bought some Chinese puzzles for bargain. I made a lot of puzzle from them. I will share them later. I made this puzzles from ready pieces. Not a collector piece but enough good to play. Puzzle pieces are here,

As you can see from picture, most of the parts can be made easily by gluing two tetramino piece or by adding a few blocks or cubes to them. External dimensions of this puzzle is 60x60x60 mm.Each cube is 15x15x15 mm. Here I will give the solution for this puzzle. According to my opinion playing with a puzzle without a solution is better, but for making them a solution is useful.

# Cubismerhan

This is a 4x4x4 cube. Normally making 4x4x4 cube puzzles require too much cut and wood. If you make a 4x4x4 cube from individual cubes, you must cut 64 cubes. Aditionally they became big. My design aim was desiging a cube possible to make from ready stocks on the market, easy to make with less cut and possible to make small The result is this puzzle. This puzzle has eight pieces.

For making this puzzle you can use ready wooden stocks available from hardware or craft stores. You will need two kind of stock.

a x a and a x 2a dimensions

For metric stocks 10×10 and 10×20 or 15×15 and 15×30 (better for playing) is a good choice. For inch stocks I guess you can find ½ x ½ inch and ½ x 1 inch, or you can cut all pieces from an ax2a stock. With two setup of your saw you can cut all pieces

a x 2a x3a you will need 8 pieces
a x a x 2a you will need 8 pieces

After you can glue pieces according to pieces drawing.
